Just Before sleep comes

The Magic Wardrobe Ring

This piece depicts a hidden passage to a magical land. Four siblings stumble upon it in the book

The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe, and they find the snow covered world of narnia and

the strange creatures that live there. My mother used to read this story to me and my brothers

just before bed, and I always fell asleep thinking about the children’s magical adventures in Narnia.

La Ciguapa Ring

The story of Las Ciguapas is a Dominican folktale my grandmother used to tell me, of magical

creatures that are said to live on the mountains and beaches, with long dark hair, and dark blue

skin. The best way to tell them apart from humans, other than their midnight blue complexion, is

their backwards facing feet, helping them remain untraceable on the beaches and mountains of

the Dominican republic.

The Acquaintance Ring ( The Little Prince, Chapter II )

The Little Prince is a story of innocence and fascination, and in this ring I attempt to capture the

prince's curiosity at the moment of his acquaintance with the pilot. I believe that the purpose of

this story is to remind us all that childlike wonder is a treasure that we must cherish in ourselves

and others.
