Afrofuturism at its finest, The Wiz has always held a special place in my heart because of the

impact it had on me as a child. I’ve loved musicals for as long as I can remember, but seeing

icons like Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Nipsey Russell in a world so haunting, funky, and

full of life was something else entirely. The music, the design, the acting—it all pulled me in and

made me dream of walking that technicolor road myself. I still wonder sometimes, what it would

feel like to wear those silver slippers and find my own way.
